Each English paragraph with its Italian translation directly beneath it, in one EPUB. Read the English first; the Italian is there when a sentence refuses to resolve.
The first 15 pages of text are sent to our server to be translated. The file itself stays on your device.
English and Italian share enough Latin that a page looks easy and then stops you dead on one clause. That is the worst case for a dictionary: because so much was effortless, you cannot tell which word broke the sentence, and checking three candidates costs a minute and the thread of the paragraph. A translation directly underneath costs a glance.
Your browser opens the EPUB, walks every paragraph and inserts the Italian beneath it as a sibling paragraph inside the original file. Only the chapter documents that receive a translation are rewritten, so cover, navigation, stylesheet and metadata survive exactly as they were.
Stacked rather than facing columns. Columns cannot hold alignment in a format that reflows to the reader's screen and font size, and Italian paragraphs run noticeably longer than their English originals, so paired columns would drift out of step within a page.
A DRM-free EPUB. The bilingual file is assembled in your browser, not on a server.
Names, terms and the tu/Lei map are fixed once, so the Italian under chapter four matches the Italian under chapter one.
Each translation is styled beneath its paragraph, clearly distinguishable without being intrusive.
A complete EPUB carrying the book's own fonts and stylesheets.
Your eye will go to the Italian — or, if you are Italian, straight past the English. Read the original paragraph first, every time. The moment of not understanding is where the learning is.
Fifteen pages get translations. The rest of the book stays in English inside the same file.
The text is sent to a server and discarded when the job ends. The file never leaves your device.
Stacked, not side-by-side. Facing columns need a wide screen, fight EPUB reflow, and go out of step the moment the Italian runs longer.
The original, every paragraph. Give yourself a few seconds of not understanding before you look down; that is the part that teaches.
Yes. Kindle has accepted EPUB directly since 2022; email it to your device or copy it across.
Because so much of Italian's meaning sits in word endings rather than in separate words. Seeing an English phrase and the Italian suffix that replaced it, side by side and repeatedly, teaches the system faster than any grammar table does.
Yes. The browser rebuilds the archive entry by entry and only rewrites chapter files that received a translation, so everything else passes through untouched.
