Upload a French EPUB and get the first fifteen pages back in Arabic — with the reading direction written into the file, which is the step most tools skip.
The first 15 pages of text are sent to our server to be translated. The file itself stays on your device.
Unicode puts Arabic letters in the right order by itself, so text that has not been marked for direction looks acceptable and is wrong in every detail that matters: the paragraph hangs off the left edge, the full stop lands on the wrong side, and any French word or number inside the sentence renders in a way no Arabic reader would accept. The fix is one attribute per paragraph, and it is written here.
The translation problem is the register. Arabic narration is written in Modern Standard Arabic; no one speaks it. A French novel's dialogue therefore comes out more formal than it was — which is the compromise published Arabic translations also make, because the alternative is choosing one country's dialect over every other.
Names, terms and tone are fixed from the whole book first, so a French name keeps one Arabic spelling from beginning to end.
A DRM-free EPUB. The file stays on your device; only the text of the sample is sent.
Names get one Arabic spelling each, chosen once and used everywhere.
About 4,500 words of Modern Standard Arabic, translated as continuous prose.
A complete EPUB with dir="rtl" written onto the translated text, so it aligns and punctuates the way Arabic should.
Modern Standard Arabic only. Dialogue will read more formally than the French did — the same compromise published translations make.
No tashkeel. Diacritics are omitted, as they are in adult Arabic prose.
The book's layout is not flipped. The translated text gets the right direction; the book's page order and stylesheet stay as the publisher made them.
Fifteen pages, not the book, and the text is sent to a server and discarded when the job ends.
Yes. The translated paragraphs carry an explicit direction attribute and an Arabic language tag, so a reader aligns them to the right edge and puts the punctuation where it belongs — which is exactly what untagged text gets wrong.
Modern Standard Arabic, the written register used across the Arabic-speaking world. It is what books are published in and the only register that does not privilege one country's speech.
They stay in Latin script and keep their own direction inside the Arabic line, which is what the marked-up direction is for — a mixed-script sentence is precisely where unmarked text goes visibly wrong.
About 4,500 words, roughly fifteen pages, five books a day per person.
