Upload an English EPUB and get the first fifteen pages back in Thai. Thai will not let a line of dialogue be neutral: the particle at the end of it declares the speaker's gender, and the pronoun declares their standing.
The first 15 pages of text are sent to our server to be translated. The file itself stays on your device.
English "I" is one word. Thai has a shelf of them, and which one a character reaches for says how old they are, who they are talking to, and how they see the distance between them. The sentence-final particle does the same job again for politeness — and it differs depending on whether the speaker is a man or a woman. None of that is recoverable from an English sentence in isolation.
It is recoverable from the book. Reading the entire text first, the model builds a guide of the cast, their genders, their relationships and the recurring terms, and the sample is translated against it — so a character does not change pronoun, or apparent gender, between pages.
Thai is also written without spaces between words. That is normal orthography, not an error, and it has a practical consequence for e-books worth knowing about before you download anything.
A DRM-free EPUB. The file stays on your device; only the text of the sample is sent.
The cast, their genders and their relationships are mapped once — which is what fixes the pronouns and the particles for the whole sample.
About 4,500 words, written the Thai way: no spaces inside a clause, spaces where a Thai writer would put them.
A complete EPUB that keeps the book's own styling, with the translation paragraphs set to wrap rather than push the page sideways.
Line breaks depend on your reader. Thai has no spaces between words, so a reader has to know Thai to know where a line may break. Good ones do; older or simpler ones break mid-word. That is the device, not the file — but it is the most visible thing about Thai e-books and worth checking on yours.
Gender and status are inferred. The English never stated either. The guide makes the inference consistent across the sample; it cannot make it authoritative.
Fifteen pages, not the book, and the text is sent to a server and discarded when the job ends.
Because that is how Thai is written. Spaces in Thai mark the end of a clause or a sentence, not the end of a word, and inserting them between words would be as wrong as writing English with a space in the middle of every syllable.
From the cast mapped across the whole book. A paragraph on its own does not say whether the speaker is a woman or a man, or older or younger than the person they are addressing — and in Thai both of those change the words on the page.
Yes, the script renders. How well the lines break varies by device, because breaking Thai correctly requires the reader to segment words itself. Recent devices handle it; very old ones can break in the middle of a word.
About 4,500 words, roughly fifteen pages, five books a day per person.
