Upload an English EPUB and get the first fifteen pages back in Russian. An English name entering a Russian sentence has to change shape depending on what it is doing there, and a translator that forgets this produces text that is instantly recognisable as machine output.
The first 15 pages of text are sent to our server to be translated. The file itself stays on your device.
Russian nouns take six cases, and borrowed names are not exempt. A character called Peter is Питер when he acts, Питера when something happens to him, and Питеру when something is given to him. Leaving the name in one fixed form everywhere — which is what a naive glossary produces — makes every sentence containing it read as broken.
That is only workable if the transliteration is decided once. Half the English names in a novel have more than one plausible Cyrillic spelling, and picking a different one in chapter six introduces a character who does not exist.
So the model reads the entire book first and writes a guide: names and their chosen Cyrillic forms, recurring terms, tone, and who addresses whom as ты rather than вы. Every page of the sample is translated against that guide.
A DRM-free EPUB. The file stays on your device; only the text of the sample is sent.
Each name gets one Cyrillic spelling, chosen once and used for the whole book.
About 4,500 words, translated as whole sentences so that names and modifiers take the case the sentence requires.
A complete EPUB. Cyrillic renders in every modern reader and the file keeps its own styling.
Fifteen pages, not the book. About 4,500 words, counted in words rather than chapters.
Russian runs longer than English in characters, so the sample fills more screen than the English did.
Transliteration follows convention, not fandom. If a name already has an established Russian spelling among readers of a particular book, the model may not know it — but whichever form it picks, it will not contradict itself.
The text is sent to a server and discarded when the job finishes.
Yes, and it is the first thing worth checking in the sample. Names are translated as part of whole sentences rather than substituted from a list, which is what allows them to take the case the grammar requires instead of sitting in the nominative everywhere.
From the relationships mapped across the whole book, then held. A paragraph on its own does not tell you whether two people are intimate or formal, so a per-paragraph translator re-guesses and the characters' relationships flicker.
Yes. Only the text changes; the book's own fonts and stylesheets are left alone, and Cyrillic is supported in every modern reader and on Kindle.
About 4,500 words, roughly fifteen pages, five books a day per person.
