Each English paragraph with its Persian translation directly beneath it, in one EPUB — the English running left to right, the Persian running right to left, each declared as such.
The first 15 pages of text are sent to our server to be translated. The file itself stays on your device.
Stacking Persian under English makes the document bidirectional, and that is a condition to declare rather than assume. Unicode orders the letters correctly on its own, so untagged Persian looks acceptable and is aligned to the wrong edge with its punctuation on the wrong side of the line. Each inserted paragraph here carries its own direction and language, and the styling that marks it is drawn on the right edge.
The pairing is unusually useful in this direction. English forces a gender onto every third-person pronoun; Persian does not have one. Reading the two stacked shows you, paragraph after paragraph, what English is obliged to say and Persian is free to leave open — which is a real feature of the language rather than a quirk to memorise.
Your browser does the work: it opens the EPUB, walks each paragraph, inserts the Persian beneath it inside the original file, and rewrites only the chapter documents that received a translation.
A DRM-free EPUB. The bilingual file is assembled in your browser, not on a server.
Names, register and forms of address are fixed once, so the Persian does not change footing between chapters.
Each Persian block is marked right-to-left and tagged as Persian, with the half-space preserved inside the words that need it.
A complete EPUB carrying the book's own fonts and stylesheets, with the English still reading left-to-right.
Your eye will go to the Persian. Read the English paragraph first, every time. The seconds of not understanding are the practice.
Fifteen pages get translations. The rest of the book stays in English inside the same file.
The text is sent to a server and discarded when the job ends. The file never leaves your device.
Stacked, not side-by-side. Facing columns cannot hold alignment in a reflowing format, and mixing two directions in columns is worse still.
Yes. Each inserted paragraph carries an explicit right-to-left direction and a Persian language tag, and the accent rule marking it is drawn on the right edge, where a Persian line begins.
English first, every paragraph. Give yourself the few seconds of not understanding before you look down.
Yes. The zero-width non-joiner travels through as an ordinary character of the text — it is what keeps prefixes and plural endings from fusing into the words next to them, and dropping it would leave a page of quietly misspelled Persian.
Yes. The browser rebuilds the archive entry by entry and only rewrites the chapter files that received a translation, so everything else passes through untouched.
